I only stayed there for two weeks (while doing ISSYP), so my opinion shouldn't count for much, but here it is:

1. The food is decent, but you'll want to eat out occasionally.
2. The ceilings are way low, so if you're around 6ft tall, you may find that somewhat depressing / claustrophobic.
3. Rooms are nice enough, but the beds are short; again, if you're 6ft tall, be prepared for an unpleasant bed.
4. The building is generally nice, and the common areas are pretty decent.
5. Be warned that some of the men's washrooms and women's washrooms have windows that can see into each other...great design, that.

This is a downside... how?

Well, I guess that depends on how buff / well-equipped you are. Having an entire floor of girls gossiping about you can be either great or epic fail Razz. Given as this was only two weeks long, I think our solution was to just be cautious of the window (as were the girls)...this was in grade 11.

You could really have fun with that. And no, I don't mean in a perverted voyeuristic way.

For example, tape a picture of this guy on over the window in the guys bathroom, facing the girls one.

I heard some people complaining about the distance of REV from the campus? I'm used to walking 20 minutes a day to school school so will the distance be an issue for me?

if so, the distance shouldn't be an issue for you.

Some people complain because REV is the furthest "on campus" residence. When compared to Engineers in UWP, then yeah... the trek is pretty annoying. Though I live just off-campus (Westmount & Erb), and the 20 minute walk to class works out well.

It's slightly over 1km to class if your classes are in Engineering, slightly less if it's Math. If you've got a bike, no time at all.

Yea I saw my rez at the Student Life 101 on Saturday. The distance was fine and really it was pretty much in the same area as MKV and V1. The rez itself was ok but I really hated the rooms. Of course there weren't anything in them so I hope I can liven it up a bit. MKV looked amazing though...I wish I had gotten that instead but oh well.

Oh man. I get two electives and I'm not sure what I want to take. I think I want to do Philosophy and Physics but at the same time that seems too hard of a term when coupled with my CS and Maths. I really want Philosophy though and someone told me that Phil 145 is good to take.

Phil 145 isn't a terribly difficult course.

Actually, that's nonsense. I slept through about 2/3 of the classes and I still got a mark around 90%. The amount of material is laughable compared to CS / Math / Science / Engineering courses. There were two projects, one of which I (mostly) finished in-class - in handwriting, no less. The second one took a couple of hours on a computer. The midterm was 45 minutes worth of test in a 1.5 hour slot, and the final was a duplicate of that in a 2 hour slot, as I recall; I left both early.

Physics 121 isn't hard, but you definitely want to pay attention. Completely ignoring the prof owned me, mark-wise. Phys 122 isn't too bad either.

Five courses is a fair bit of work in a term (I've done six, but I won't ever again). Choose philosophy courses for the 5th course to make sure you have time for the other ones Razz .

Alright thanks. That's what I ask thinking. So I'll take Phil 145 and now I just need to decide on my other elective. Someone told me that Philosophy also helps develop logic which is definitely useful in Math and CS. Still need to think long and hard about Physics. I don't want to completely kill myself. However, is Phil 145 okay if I've never taken a philosophy class in HS.

Yes, yes it is. Phil 145 starts with a complete introduction to everything and anything. I'm not sure if this is in the course plan, but my class definitely spend 2 x 1.5 hour classes learning about the Monty Haul problem...and the explanation was incorrect.

Then it's settled, Phil 145 is one of my electives. Seems very interesting. Read some more stuff. Sounds like a fun class to take that develops logic and reasoning skills which is of course, useful for Math and CS. Also seems to lead to many interesting things in the years to come. Well that leaves one more. I think Physics is out. I was thinking maybe History but it won't really lead me anywhere. Yea it's interesting but I could always read up on it on my own. Definnitely DON'T want to ever touch chem or bio again. Hated those two courses with passion.

Well, gotta think long and hard about what other course I want.
