Well, some of you guys may remember me mentioning a Belarusian kid coming over for the summer, and well, he's here!

His name's Andrei. He is an orphan, and is totally awesome! When I showed him some computer games on my garbage P2 windows 98, he sat there for hours, playing lame learning games. Then I showed him battlefront II on my garbage P4 windows XP, and now he won't go back onto the 98! He loves computer games, which automatically makes me like him. He has learned some english over the three days he's been here ('no', 'yes', and 'Kimmy' (my dog's name)). He uses the first one a lot now. Omg, you guys should have scene his face when we gave him some chocolate! I might add more stuff over the summer if I feel the need.

If I spelled 'Belarusian' wrong, it's not my fault!

You don't need to worry about your spelling there. Wink

Aziz; He's 10. Star wars has Belarusian subtitles? Gonna have a look at that...

Zampano; Great!

We took him to the Mandarin restaurant today. I don't think he's ever seen that much food in one spot before! Needless to say, he left the restaurant with a stomachache.

The dialect should be fairly close to Russian. Actually, Russian is one of the two official languages in that country. So that is likely your better option for translated content.

Yeah, but in Soviet Russian, movies translate YOU.

Ahem.

I think having you two not speak to each other might be a good idea.

It's cool that he knows of the life where he can have as much food as he wants, shelter, etc.. but what about when he goes back?

He'll be able to pwn all his n00b friends, that's what'll happen. And what hostility between who? Anything involving me was just banter =D

Actually, there are two major dialects of Belarusian; Those closer to Russia have a Russian dialect, whereas those living near Ukraine have a Ukrainian dialect. Also, those living in cities speak Russian as their first language, while Belarusian is the primary tongue in the countryside.

Andrei can't read Russian (as bad at it as I am in French...or even Russian!), so we can't do that (I already tried Google Translate).

The whole group of kids & the families they are staying with got together at a farm for social time/clothing swapping/food, and that was good for him to have some people to talk to in his own language. It was great for me, too, because there were some hot sixteen-year-old Belarusian girls there!

On the 21st, the whole group is going to Wonderland (They let us in for free!) and I can spend the whole day with three foreign chicks who may need holding on the scarier rides (or maybe I'll be the one needing holding...) Smile

lol, This is going to be a fun summer...
