Post the customizations you've implemented to improve your browsing experience.

I use Firefox and here's what I've done:

  • Installed AdBlock+
  • Installed CuztomizeGoogle (Can you guess why?)
  • Installed Download Statusbar
  • Installed Google Gears (I use Google Docs quite a bit)
  • Options -> Main -> When Firefox starts: "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
  • Options -> Tabs -> Unchecked "Warn me when closing multiple tabs"
  • Options -> Advanced -> General -> Enabled "Use smooth scrolling"
  • about:config -> gfx.use_text_smoothing_setting = true
  • about:config -> gfx.color_management.enabled = true
  • about:config -> mousewheel.withnokey.numlines = 6 (Since I have a large screen display)
  • about:config -> mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines = false (So that the above is effective)

Lots of stuff:

  • Couple of suggestions rizzix made.
  • Adblock+ - Necessity.
  • Firebug - Good for web development.
  • FoxyProxy - Great for sites which think geography matters on the internet.
  • NoScript - If you're paranoid, this is for you.
  • StumbleUpon - Never be bored again.
  • Ubuntu Firefox Modifications - No idea what these are.
  • YSlow - Something to do with the YDN.

Naturally all in Firefox 3.0.

Saad: Ooh, FishEye Tabs and Tabs Open Relative are awesome. Thanks for posting! (I'd recommend installing Tab X as well, as it makes it more useful)

syntax_error, I'd just like to let you know, that from my experience pipelining actually slowed things down, than speed it up.

No problem, but I can't see why using Tab X becomes superior to using the regular middle button to close the window (since FishEye will make it big enough anyway).

No, both are completely different. Cooliris Previews allow you to preview the webpage before you go there, and can be found here while Hyperwords is a set of useful functions for words and paragraphs (see demo here)

AdBlock+ ftw! It should be included in Firefox's core.

I use Opera.

Tabs have x's, and you can middle click
It has an ad blocker built in
Tabs are the same when you last closed

I would like better gmail though, just for the attachment icons.
