So I bought myself a nice new camera and so far I am very satisfied with it. However, I have clearly been letting the members of cs.ca down by not posting pictures.

Wow! Do you have them in 1024x768 so I can set them as my desktop? Wink

*edit* Never mind, found the 1600x1200 originals. I think I'll set the second one as my wallpaper for now.

I have them in sizes up to 3648x2736 Wink

I *was* going to link to the originals... but for now I prefer to leave it to people to figure out on their own if they want to.

Incidentally, I grant all cs.ca members the right to use the images for any non-profit personal use. Anything more and I expect money Wink

Yeah I was just thinking that I should probably ask before you sue me or something. Well, done and done. Wink

They're a bit bright, however that was easily mended... Err... We have permission to modify the images too, right? Shifty

What's the model of the camera? Very very nice though. I'm almost certain you edited some of them right?

They are all HDR shots; so "editing" isn't really the right word.

Basically a whole lot of shots get taken at different exposures. Then you use a computer to generate a high dynamic range image from the original shots. Finally you tone-map the HDR into LDR's (low definition range - standard images). I go a bit further and do multiple tone-mappings and then merge them together as overlays in GIMP.

The camera is an Olympus E510; with the kit 14-45mm lens. I also have some older OM lenses that I'm gonna give a try too; but they are very difficult to focus and aren't quite as high quality as the kit lens. On the other hand.... 1m lenses are rather kick ass... Wink

I didn't know grass could be so green! So you're big into photography, eh? Those pics are AWESOME! You seem to like water...

This boat drew my attention because it was so damned small. The boat behind it "No Regrets" is ~34' long.

They do look enhanced, but he explained it. It's all about the color and contrast, I think (in non camera porn fanatic terms).

That cloudy sky is KICK ASS though.

md, how do you take so many pictures at different exposures, wouldnt the camera move in between shots? or do you use a tripod?
or am i missing something that only photographers know?
