Planning has begun on v4 of the site. We need your input to determine which features the community will use.
Is there anything in particular you enjoy using on this site? Are there any features in v3 that you like but don't use simply because you don't like how they work? Are there any features you find useless or that you just don't bother using? Is there a feature missing that you'd like to have?
Any input is appreciated. |

maybe have some way of spending the bits, because right now they seem kind of useless to me... |

Yeah, there is no real reason to actually use the bits right now, you just... get them. |

I would like to see some logic for auto code taging.
If the system detects a post with code in it, it should try to guses the langue and code tag it.
Also i want to see it be as modualr as posible so new plugins, featuers, etc can be added by editing as few existing files as posible. |

Can I say : "Front Page" or would that be too redundant? |

Just a small thing but it annoys me every time it happens. When it shows you the posts on the left, it shouldn't show posts you can't visit. i.e. when there is a post in the members lounge. It shows up, but when I click it, I can't see it. Just a minor annoyance I would like to see fixed. |

Just a note, the v4 will be 100% form sractch (or at least all new software) so rdicale and big changes are posible and featuers can be removed that v3 has.
So some input for things like what do you want bits to do, what you want to see in a front page or what is the best way in your option to display new posts whould be realy helpfull.
Edit: Also if any one is intrested you can join the "fTeam" witch will be planing and devloping the software and not just for this site. My hope is to realses the software as open source software (tho this is still pending discusion about it) and have it generliazed so any site can use it. Just PM me about it. Right now it looks like it might be python based with a web framework but that also is still up for disscusion. |

Thank God. Down with PHPBB!
EDIT: Get rid of all the shit down the left hand side. It's too distracting. Also, there needs to be some major thought into the re-organization of the forums and sub-forums. |

an autoban feature! You know... "if the user's postcount is under whatever and the caps per lower-case letters ratio is too high" type of heuristic. |

I cant tell if the above is sarcasm or not, but who cares. It should be put in anyway!
I would like to help with all that dan said, but I'm afraid my python is sorely lacking, I cant even fly yet. >_> |

It would be nice if when you checked a users posts they were ordered by date instead of forum posted in. Though with it being completely new software and all I doubt that'll be an issue.
Is this thread going to try to beat the V3 suggestions thread? |

I'd disagree with dropping the avatar info panel, maybe a text-only condensed option and/or a no-motion option along with Always show.
Keep sigs, they too add flavour and a chance to get to know the personalities.

I think Dan meant "dTeam". Python web programming, I'm in.
Edit: Nope, he meant "fTeam". Forum team rather than dev team. My bad
I like all that 'crap' down the side of the page on the front, I use it all the time.
What I would like to see is a better search page. I always click google search because it's at the bottom rather than the normal search button =/
And some a new bits shop would be nice. Mostly just effects probably. I also used to visit a site that was about anime, comics and graphics and they had a built in rpg-esque game. I guess sort of like GaiaOnline, but not so furry or weeabo. Perhaps a fun geeky little forum-game. You could then spend bits for something.
Since it's being built from the ground up, there's a lot of potential here. I agree to keep it modular and make an underlying framework, and release it. There's a lack of good forum software out there. Compsci's forums are so great because as Dan's mentioned, they're heavily customized from the stock phpbb.
And python just rocks. |

Forget those text-based users. |

Ajax it for sure, that would be compiling a new software with the newest coding technology, and might I add, the smoothest. |
