What do you get with :
PtCl4 + Cl2 --> ? PtCl4 + Cl2
from what i see you get no reaction at all.
-----------------------------------------------
is this reaction correct?
carbonic acid + sodium bicarbonate -- > carbon dioxide + water + sodium carbonate (washing soda)
H2CO3 + NaHCO3 -- > CO2 + H2O + NaCO
H2CO3 + 2NaHCO3 -- > CO2 + 2H2O + Na2CO |

The top one is not a cemical reaction, and I believe the bottom one is correct, haven't done it in a semester, but I destroyed Science this year. |

Thx a lot,
More questions...
--------------------
How is sodium bicarbonate sythesized?
I thought its a base so i followed the text book method of oxidation and dissolve in water
2Na + O2 -> 2NaO
NaO + H2O -> 2Na(OH)
As you can see, I get sodium hydroxide which is not what i want...wtf...
--------------------
How do you sythesize potassium sulfite? K2SO3
If you do the same thing as above you get potassium hydroxide (soap).
--------------------
The text book listed the above 2 i guess irregular bases but did not explain how they are produced.
I find this to be the highest order of disorderliness. |

Actually, I do, but I rather not dig my notes out to do someone else work, and give them answers. They need to learn. |

that's why you tell them the process, not the answer |

its not hwk.. im studying for a test tmr, i asked here because i couldnt find the answer after i tried solving it from what i learned
a problem with anonymous questioning is that u dont know what to trust, u could assume im lying but i would say im not.... |

Na(CO_3)_2 == Sodium Bicarbonate
Where is the carbon in your synthesis reactions? |
