this is a shitty old game i made back in high school as a final project. I was going to submit my Phantom Gear game (screens here), but it obviously wasn't finished so I created this the night before the project was due Very Happy Ya, the current A.I is shitty, so if anyone wants to fix it, i can provide the source code and maybe even the little map maker that I put together for placing coins and collision detection. Let me know what you think.

Not bad for a "night before" project. You're right in saying the AI suck, they pretty much walk randomly, not even going for you.
It would be nice if you could incluce/post the controls, they took me a while to figure out (seeing that there is no start button on my keyboard Smile)

ya, i tried to make an algorithm for the enemies to follow you around, but at the same time i had to make it so that if they run into an obstacle they stop following you directly, move around the obstacle and then continue chasing you in the direction you were going. Anyways, I ended up running into a few obstacles myself, but still got near perfect on the project.

as for controls...

START=c button (caps must be off)
Left, Right, UP, Down arrow keys to move

How did you do collision for this exactly?

i did collision on this using a tile system by seeing where the player is, and checking a value associated with the tile they want to move on. if that value is set to 0 for example, the tile is empty and the player is able to move in that direction. Here's a screen of the map maker.
