The labour day weekend marks the end of summer for most Canadian students, highschool and college/university alike. You're either terribly excited or horrified for Tuesday September 4th.

Me, I'm excited. I'm heading into my second year of Computer Programing at St. Clair College. I worked all summer, and going back to school means plenty of time to program (not assignments, of course), and play old-school LAN games with my friends (like CounterStrike 1.5 and Unreal Tournament). Also, this year my girl is starting college so we'll be driving up together and hanging out. She's got a sweet ass new laptop and thus I may be able to shwing it from here for a bit sometimes (she's got an hour class where she sits in a gym and sings - ECE courses are weird).

How about everyone else?

im pretty excited i guess, ive been programming all summer but programming just aint the same alone... i need my school chumps to help me out and chat a bit while we program, also chicks are easier to pick up at school rather than seeing one walking down the street Razz also this year im learning java which beats turing (from what ive heard... countless times) so i guess school is good

I am starting my first year of Computer Programming at Fanshawe College. Only problem is my MacBook Pro probably won't ship before school starts so I'll have to borrow a laptop till it comes.

Ahhh, the weekend how sweet it is!,
Just completed my last day of work at the factory and got home... now a night of fun a day of sorrow, a day of packing, and a day of going until I move into Waterloo V1. However, the people I will miss from around me is what I will regret, the people whom I did not catch up with this summer and talk to, let alone those who mean a lot to me...

But there is a new beginning to it all, hopefully I can get my resume ready to get another job while I am at University, while continuing to further my education. Met some good people a long the way, even though my summer seemed like a complete waste coming home dead tired from work monday through friday... The thing I am looking forward to is sleeping in once school starts, yes that is correct SLEEPING IN!, I normally wake up for work at 5 am, this 7:30 am or 7:00 am will be amazing!

Hope you all a good year, and that your summer's were good
Peace,
Alex

I'm not returning to school until January (most likely). So it's just any other weekend for me.

Yes, I do need a laptop. It's a mandatory requirement for the program. Check out the program description

Funny, it's the new courses I took in Grade that actually prompted me to open this account in the first place.
Was I excited for computer science? Without a doubt, I was hyped up about starting to program and my general success has only furthered my joy.

I haven't prgrammed in like three years, yet I took grade 12 computer science. I know basic turing things, but I don't know anything about C++ or Java which is what we will be using. (Maye some Visual Basic)... So yea not really looking forward to it! haha
