I need help with a project that I am making...

Hi everyone, im having trouble figuring out what to look for when im making my program. I want a text box sort of thing to display information using GUI's. I Can't seem to figure out what this is called and I have been looking in the user reference manuel for a good hour now. If anyone can help me here i would very much appreciate it. The best description of what i need is something that displays text onto a certain part of a screen...that is different from the rest, kind of like where you write down your posts on this forum. Except i want the program to write text onto it and for it to be read-only. Thank You.
