Any good tutorials on java 3d? I've heard from a friend that he made a program in 3d without the extra Java 3D api in native code I think he said. I'm just wondering what you guys have to say about it and any links for tutorials/info on 3d modelling in java. As always, thanks for any replies. I know they'll be useful Very Happy

I have done it for a final project with a partner and let me tell you, it is very hard and confusing to get it done right...

I've seen his program. 2000 lines of long code + the pics he drew in the java frame were in the format that records all the edges in the picture (I forgot its name but he said thats what it did). I know its hard but it would be interesting to make even something basic because 2D is just lacking a dimension Razz

I blive sun has a quite detailed and in deepth tutoral on the java3d api. I printed it off once and it filled up a lagre binder, also a free book on it.

However the java3d api is over complicated in my option and i blive there are better 3rd party alterives.

Can you provide a link to a third party alternative? I'm assuming you are talking 3rd party alternatives for 3d programming in java.

I have the java 3d tutorial pdf book but as you said its pretty complicated and I have not had time to start reading it.
