I apologize if this has been talked about previously, but I am a little curious about it. On the Ipod, and some other MP3 devises and phones, there are games.
I was wondering if someone knew if there is a way to perhaps write your own code and place it on there to be run like a game. If so what language does it need to be in, and where does the file go.

You'll probably need some sort of SDK for that specific hardware, so no, since I doubt they would make them available for free.

Thanks, I'll be anticipating your response.
I did a little searching, but couldn't find anything useful other then the fact that there is some Linux software for the IPod. I'm thinking that could be pretty interesting.

it'd be amazing to get my hands on an iPod SDK, and to see some Mac quality 3rd party apps.
Though I imagine that iPod games is going to become a hot market, so it's quite possible that Apple would license out the SDK to just some select dev studios for a load of money.

Dunno if this helps...
The newer cell phones that are coming out are all java enabled so you can easily download and use games/apps on them.
I just got my Motorola v3i which is java MIDP2 capable, and there are lots of free apps and games available for free out there for it. The phone also has iTunes built into it as the mp3 player (although I'm not sure if this is done through java or not).
Since it seems to be such a versatile solution, I would imagine even ipods would implement such a thing instead of creating their own engine...
