|
|
I just noticed there's now an edit feature on these forums, yay! Before it wasn't there. I needed this so many times before to update my posts. Please keep it there ![Very Happy Very Happy](http://compsci.ca/v3/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

There's always been an edit feature. The thing is, it's disabled in the help forums because people were posting their question, getting the help they needed, and then editing out their question, possibly out of a matter of pride.
There have been numerous topics discussing this: whether to bring it back or not. |

Oooh, ok. I was in the Turing Source posting and editing. I guess it kinda make sense from stopping the edit button in help. But an argument could be, people do not want to look through every single page to see what you have improved on to further help them, especially if the page is like 5 pages+. |

Not many help posts are 5+ pages long. In fact, I can't think of a single one, off hand.
The plan is to get an edit button back in the help forums, but it will be limited. That is, posts are only editable for 5 minutes after making the post, or posts are only editable until someone posts after you, or something like that. |

Edit buttons don't keep people from having to read threads anyways, which isn't actualy required either. See those page numbers? Those are links! ![Wink Wink](http://compsci.ca/v3/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Reading threads is how you find answers to your questions, generally speaking if you ask a question many people will post possible solutions and you work your way to a real solution from there. In essesnce the entire thread is the solution (or at least how the final code was gotten to).
However, if you've already read pages 1-5 just click on page 6 and read new posts ![Smile Smile](http://compsci.ca/v3/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

To edit my posts in the help section when I make a big error, I copy the post, paste it in notepad, delete the post, edit, then re-post. I agree that there should be an edit button until someone posts after you. That's logical. |
