Before you post a request for help, please do look at the Java Tutorial section to see if your topic is covered. If it isin't, then try the General Programming section (especially if your topic is more about theory versus hands on java issues).

If your issue is sill not covered refer to the online Java Almanac. It contains a list of examples on how to use the various classes of the Java 1.4 Standard API.

If all of the above fail to solve your problem, then by all means please do post here. Of course once again there are no guarantees your post will be answered or that you will receive a working solution.

If a proposed solution is "wrong" the few knowledgable persons here in compsci and I, will try and correct it ASAP.

A topic will be marked as answered if a complete solution to a specified problem has been posted.

This implies that, if the original author solved his own problem and did not post his solution, the post will be left marked unanswered. This also implies that if new (directly) related problems or questions arise when solving a particular problem, it is required that these new questions and problems are also completely answered for the post to be marked as "Answered".

Nevertheless, you are not really required to resolve any particular problem, since that actually makes my life easier Wink but as far as possible try and provide a complete and accurate solution. Referring to other posts/sites is also a valid solution so long as it resolves the author's problem(s).
