The biggest thing holding me back from enjoying an MMORPG would be people acting like idiots or caring only about their items and levelling as opposed to, you know, "role playing"?

Using the previously mentioned "Guild Wars" as an example, my brother is in a guild with a bunch of friends we went to school with. They all wear shiny pink capes decorated with purple flowers because the idiot that plays enough to collect the amount of in-game currency needed to make the guild is an idiot. (Yum, redundancy).

So it seems to me, that if I wanted to enjoy an MMORPG for an actual RPg ("g" not capitalized for emphasis of "rp"), I'd have to play to the point that the game is no longer enjoyable. Or get very lucky and meet up with all the right people.

Is there any actual "adventure"? Or just "quests"?

I'd like to play MMORPGs, but I think I'm too poor to afford the extra $30/month.
I like the idea of playing with all of my favorite Warcraft characters though. Can you play as the drunken panda in WoW?

dont talk about dragon RO.. its just a horrible sight..!!! at least guildwars has awesome graphics... still nothing beats Lineage II (when it comes to graphics)..

as for gameplay.. WoW is an obvious winner.

Lineage 2 is alright, but I only thought it was worth playing for hmm, 2hours? Runescape, if anyone mentions it, stinks, and while I'm at it (making enemies, of course), so does WoW Smile.

I don't know, I like MMORPG's, but they usually are just not worth it... $30/a month, for a game that should be worth at most $50-60 one time fee. The last MMORG that I seriously played, and still occasionally do (its the freeness aspect) is Helbreath. Yeah for diablo-like MMORPGs!!
