Bah, Maddox. He used to have a certain flare about him, and his writing were at one point quite amusing. But as of late he seems to have lost that sneeringly witty aspect to his writings, which leave me dissapointed and some-what dissilussioned. I continue to read his posts from time to time, only because, as a friend says, "Without sh!t, you'd have nothing to compare to gold."

That's basically the funniest site I've ever seen - I read it quite often.

And Cervantes, you gotta realize that he writes like that just to get a rise out of people - he takes special pleasure in inciting hate mail, and then taking apart the people who send it; there are not a lot of people who are more argumentative and expressive about it on the web.

I'm on his book's mailing list and I'm going to buy it as soon as it comes out. Very Happy

I think he sold out because he uses his immense internet influence for personal again-- ie. getting people to boycott orbitz just because he had a bad experience Rolling Eyes

Fact: Myself, and three other people have mailed him commenting on the declining quality of his articles. His response to all three?

Why don't you read something else then?
Lots of people are more argummentative then him, including myself I like to think, but these people just choose to not bother writing angry blogs because, at least in my case, feel no need to vent.
I have transcended my, "Being angry at the world and making articles with random insults about different things to make myself feel better" stage.
I used to do it a lot. Which is why I changed my Internet handle to Notoroge. If you do a Google of my name, you'll see almost nothing. Very Happy Everything on it is me btw.

You're lucky you even got a response because I never got one when I sent him. Crying or Very sad
Anyway, for those of you have read his "The Greatest Game in the Universe" news column, I have emailed him about making it in Turing. Laughing I'll probably be insulted by him, but I still plan on making it over the summer. Razz

From what I read, he can't pick apart arguments; rather, he makes ridiculous assumptions and dwells on them. He also has a habit of attacking people's grammer/spelling, which has nothing to do with the issue.

Yeah, that's one thing I can't stand. I mean, it's one thing for a person to be a moron, but when the moron's try to spread their views... No good can come from that!

Sweet, same for me, "Drakain Zeil" is all me. Just... don't do what I did, and make a website. Blah... DMOZ gets it, then everything goes down hill into a land of huge bothersome searching.

Well, that's not really what I meant. He writes his page partially to be funny, and partially to piss people off. The thing is, when you argue with him, you're arguing on his terms, and when you argue with him like that, he will always win, simply because in that arena, he is muc more persuasive and expressiev than anyone else.

And yeah, about the grammar thing - he wrote a website to vent and to piss people off. What pisses someone off more than telling them to learn how to spell, and ignoring their main argument? Wink

Althuogh, you have to read some of the hate mail, it's classic. I especially love the one with the capslock picture.

I read that, and it was mildly amusing. But again, he disregards the issue and rants about something else.

I have to question why anyone would make a website with the intention of pissing people off. Does he find it amusing? I think it would get old fast, and leave you with an overwhelming sense of guilt and self-disguist. Maybe that's just me though. Perhaps he's too far gone for self-disgust?

Some of them (there are a few he writes without the sounding like he wants attention) are great. But the real reason why I stopped going to his site:

I don't like sites with large fonts. Smile
