And for those of us behind filtered school proxies, try this site: Smile
Hint: Poke the smilie!

I like the high level of detail in this article.
Update: That's supposed to be the processor that the PS3 will sport.

Not necessarily. ThePS3 looks to use faster and more video memory, and Sony will be using the "Cell" variant on the PowerPC, while the one Microsoft is using looks to be more conservative. "Cell", co-developed by Sony, IBM< and Toshiba incorporates 8 special purpose execution cores and a 64-bit PowerPC controller chip on a single die. The best comparison I can make is to say it's a bit like a cluster setup without any network latency.

I also like the CF/SD reader in addition to MemoryStick, and the use of USB ports. It's like Sony read my comment about consoles using standard components.

Maybe with a hard-drive and linux on it, we can soon see a really cheap and fast Mac (once price drops)? PearPC anyone?

Not necessarily. While the Cell is based around a straightforward PowerPC64 execution core, it is fairly funky, and there's no guarantee Apple will support it.

Then, if Apple did support it, there's a good chance they wouldn't be able to take full advantage of the 8 Special Purpose Execution cores. These are the primary benefit in using Cell. The general purpose core, while fast in clockspeed, is fairly simple, and can't necessarily compete on its own with other PPCs, especially as pertains to VMX/Altivec performance, upon which Apple's software heavily relies.

I love the way the PS3 looks. I will buy one over an X-Box.

Indeed. Comparable to anything currently out, save perhaps the GameCube, it's very sleek.

I real like how the new nintendo will be able to download any SNES, NES and N64 game to it's hdd and games to the DS with the built in wifi in both devices. It is to bad they have not toald us more about this nice black box.

I was wrong, it looks like the PS3 is the most powerful of the three. Apparently the XBox 360 is much more functional though (with more cool features). But yeah, looks like I'm gonna own a ps3. Unfortunately, by everything that Nintendo has said about the revolution, it's only going to be about 3 times more powerful than the GC (vs. 30x for the PS2->PS3 and 15x for the XBox->XBox 360).

Nintendo seems to be falling apart lately, and that makes me kind of worried. It would be sad to see them go the route of Sega.
