PostPosted: Thu Apr 14, 2005 9:06 pm   Post subject: [Game] ~Star Catcher~

I've been a little bored the last week, what with studying for finals and all. Honestly, so much stress. Too much stress.
So I made this. Funny, it's the first fully functional programme I've made in a long time.

Ok, basic premise. Dodge 'asteroids' and catch 'stars'. Last as long as you can.
Please read the ReadMe before you play.

Have fun.

Pretty good! I like how its all Turing and no bmps. The only thing that was wrong with it was the screen limits were a little tall, and yeah it was a little hard to focus, but oh well. It was good though, keep it up.

I guess the next edition to the game would be other levels and an opposing AI.

Pretty cool, as soon as I figured out that you weren't supposed to hit the boxes (asteroids) too Smile especially considering its pure Turing.

One suggestion, the high score list (if thats what it is?) or something blink REALLY fast at the end of the game, so you cnat see it...

@jamonathin
What do you mean the 'screen limits were a little tall'?

@[Gandalf]
Did you read the ReadMe? Laughing
As for the 'high scores list', I've updated the proggie...it seems that I selected "close run window on exit" when compiling...

It was just your setscreen limits. All the comps I go on, the pixel height isn't too large, and I just didn't know what was goin on at first, but then i saw that the screen (y-axis) was too tall. It's nothing to worry about. Wink

Very nice Delos. Nice, polished game. I like the idea of bullets going off at random angles. I'd play it again, but I don't want to over do it on my eyes. I really wish the asteroids didn't flash!

Now, where would the fun be in that? Keep in mind that if you shoot the asteroids, they stop flashing....hehehe.

Post up your highscores.

Err, I think I collected about 170 stars, destroyed 48 of them (Laughing damn rookie pilot needs to learn how to shoot straight! [aah, the irony is that wouldn't have helped me!]), and maybe 8000 or so points? Don't quite remember. I'm scared to play it again! Laughing j/k

There's nothin wrong with the stars, i think it's a pretty nice effect, and headache free. Try getting some prescription glasses.
