I put my friend's 4 mb MMC card into my MP3 player, but in the player I'm able to store about 16 mb of songs. Could someone please explain this??
Thanks in advance |

The player has its own internal memory? |

yes the card does have internal memory but it has 64 mb of it. oh and i don't know if this is significant but the MMC card that i borrowed was taken from a digital camcorder ( for photos ), and my friend said that possibly the 4 mb on the label was the measurement of space for photos. But 4 mb should be 4 mb for any format shouldn't it? also, the card is really old, that's why it's only 4 mb. |

your mp3 player probably compresses the songs into a different format, thus saving space |
