 How do i run .patch files on windows?

Hey,
Um phpbb gives out patch files for users who have made added many mods and etc to their site. I was wondering how I could run these 'patch' files on windows.. since i think its only made for UNIX based systems. But there should be something to enable them to run on windows also, right?

So anyone know?
