hi,

How do i test my download and upload speed for my ADSL connection?? dslreports.com does not give a true speed result. I tested it, it said over 1200 kbps for download so i tested it again on dslreports then it said over 640 kbps. I was looking for a true test speed tool..

How do you know it's not a real report on speed? ADSL is pretty much a broadband connection. I get ~6000 Kbs on http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ That's because I have a 5 Mbit connection. ADSL should be ~1.5, which is pretty much the results you're getting. So I'd say it's pretty accurate.

And did you read about why you can get varied results from different tests?

No but i shouldnt have to read or find out why. It should give me an estimate not an estimate from 600 kbps a piece.

Um...

Why do I get very different results from different test servers?
Poor performance on one test server indicates the path from your ISP to that test server is currently congested. For benchmarking your actual line speed, and not the internet, or your ISP, the higher test number is more correct.

Also sometimes it depends where you are located and where the servers are located (the speed changes) but then again, you might already know that...

btw

I live in PA and my ISP is located about 5 minutes away. I understand it changes but i wanted kind of accurate speed.
