this one draws jesus fish.
code: | procedure drawjesusfish (x:int,y:int,size:int,col:int)
var xn,yn:real
for t:1..10000
xn:=3*size* cos (2*t)+x
yn:=size* sin (3*t)+y
drawdot(round(xn),round(yn),col)
end for
end drawjesusfish
var thesize:int:=40
drawjesusfish(100,100,thesize,45)
drawdot(100-round(1.5*thesize),100,4) |
as shown, x-1.5*size is the location where the tail crosses itself. |

Well, I'm not Christian, but here's an explination:
The fish is the earlisest known symbol representing Christianity. In essence, it is a simple way for people to express their Faith, and their acceptance of Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
A little history - the fish was initially a way to secretly identify those who were Christian, as at the time (a long time ago), they were persecuted for their beliefs...sound familiar?
Anyway, eventually, meaning was attatched to the fish in the form of a Greek acronym. I don't know why this was the case, perhaps the fish in Athens tastes the best...
The Greek word for 'fish' is ichthus. The acronym used the letters IXOYE (Reason? I'm guessing that it had something to do w/ the Greek language.)
So, we have the letters IXOYE inscribed in the fish, to give us:
I (Jesus) X (Christ) O (God's) Y (Son) E (Saviour)
So, there you have it. The Jesus Christ Fish, a very religious symbol.
And if you want a somewhat humourous read (well, to me at least...this may not be the case for everyone), head over to here. |
