|

I didn't want this to take up space in the Tutorial forum, so I posted it here. Noticing a lack of decent RPG's made by Turing out there, besides QFTB and mine of course (may be a little biased) , I'm wondering if anyone here would be interested in seeing a little Tutorial on how to make a good RPG. I've already started, it's like 6 pages in Word, but I don't want to spend too much time on it, if there is not enough interest in it. My guide will go through the RPG-making process by providing helpful Turing commands and how to utilize them, and general RPG elements that you should add to make it more interesting.

I think it would be a great idea!
personally I know that many programmers who consider themselves above average to try to pull something big off for final projects... such as an RPG. I really hate to see those kids fail because of setting their goals too high.
This tutorial should ether help them with the development or perhaps make them think about it some more before tackling the task. |

anyone who wants to play the shittiest mario of all time look for a SNES ROM (good luck finding a real copy) called "Where is Mario" it is literally the worst game ever, I'm not even sure if it was released. |

you mean mario is missing?... lol i hated that game, it was seriously the shittiest thing that they ever did... next to the n64.. i hated that console, and i hate the gamecube... they have these stupid games for kids that are like 4 years old... if anybody wants a real console get the ps2, even better, screw consoles and get a computer... thats the best thing ... |

real console? Xbox! Its more powerful in every aspect then my computer other then RAM amount (after my upgrades)... though its probably faster RAM there anyway
but ya... if you want an awesome gaming experience, get yourself a 3Ghz P4 with a gig of RDRAM, 256MB Vid Card, hook it up to a 50" TV set and start shooting up ppl over a T3 line
doesnt get any better then this for about 2 more weeks 8) |

lol screw rd ram, unless you got a liquid cooler in there... rd overheats too much... but yea, p4 isnt as great as the athlons, seeing that they render 10 frames faster than the p4s... kinda wierd eh? they're slower in fsb, and cpu speed, but they render faster... hmm |

ya, processor speed alone doesnt do much... I doubt that those 3Ghz processors ever get anywhere near their potential... Considering bus is 533 at fastest (i think) and even RDRAM just gets to 800s. Whats the point of having your processor run at 4 times your memory speed? let alone bus and harddrive...
thats why Macs with 1Ghz processors kick ass (atleast when it comes to graphics)... I think they got some funky architecture tripling its speed or something. |
