maybe you only think it does nothing o.O
Anyways, since you said "log in" i assume you're using XP, i dont know XP much but in me you can run "msconfig" and choose what to go in startup.. you could just get it to not open. OR search HD for "optimize.exe" and delete if you think its virus Smile

I believe that is "Internet Optimizer" which is "optimizes Internet Explorer". SpyBot can only get rid of it when you restart the computer, but AdAware may be able to get it without that. Run SpyBot to make sure though, because it may be something that you need.

Windows optimizer wuld be a worm. You can delete it manually as long as you Ctrl-Alt-Del and end task optimizer

You would have to find a way to delete it though.

Try AdAware, I don't think SpyBot is deleting it because it is running, but AdAware can delete it if it's running. You might want to back up your hard drive and reformat if it keeps screwing with you.

Norton wasn't able to delete anything when it found something, it just said "Delete failed" so I deleted it and fired off a big "Fuck You" to Symtantec.
