I have advanced functions, chem, philosophy and computer science this semester, and physics, calc, and english next semester. Im doin really bad in chem and id rather just drop it cause its lowering my average pretty hard. Would it be wise of me to do so or is it required for univerity.

Most universities post their program requirements on their websites. Most don't need chem. Most programs only take your top 6 or 8 grade 11/12 marks for the average so unless you have some other problem classes, it shouldn't hurt your chances.

Like Insectoid says, most programs won't require it, but always check on your preferred school's requirements well ahead of time. For instance, I needed at least one 12U science course, regardless of discipline, for acceptance to my program when I was in school. YMMV
