i started dabbing around blender a couple of days ago... i was thinking maybe we could each create a model of a car and we could have a vote for which one is the best.
so what do you guys think? it would be fun and i would learn better if i had some motivation

Do it! And when you're done you can submit it to the F1 modelling challenge on Elysiun. I... might compete.

Oh, heck no. You should see the things they make for it. Lots of joke cartoony cars, some incredible futuristic hover vehicles, tanks, etc.
/me makes a note to download Blender 2.41

If you are really new to modelling cars, but would still like to give it a shot, looking around this linky yields some tutorials on it.
I would strongly recommend that you do not accept entries of any of the cars in those tutorials

i recommend being able to use uv mapping to yeild good results....i will be willing to make a good tutorial for a few bytes
i got the basic shape working on texturing
we should have two sections yafray rendering and blender internal as both can yeild diff. results

I'm just looking around and wondering if you kept working on the car model. What news, zylum?

Al hasn't been here since 2009. I really doubt he's still working on this.
