Compsci.Ca Mascot

Alright, for some extra advertising, we need two people to dress up, one as the number 1, another as the number 0. They then have to go to the river and dance. Any volunteers?


Hah, actually, CompSci.Ca needs a mascot. Anyone have any ideas/submissions under the offer of bits?

It doesn't have to be complex.

when you say mascot , do you mean the real type like high school mascot or the good ol logo mascot ,like Mac , and Mandrake Linux or Red Hat Linux

you know, if you could wait a week (maybe next weekend) I would actually be willing to do that just for compsci.ca! I just gotta find a #1 and 0 custom.

Anyway back to a mascot logo, what would a computer science mascot look like...pc with arms and legs?

I would guess logo mascot.
can't really have somebody dressed up dancing around where no one can see him.

that's actually a really hard question to answer.
here's a start, though somebody will likely add to this idea:
a computer with 'Sci" written on the side.

Oh god no. Absolutely no furries. That'll make all the REAL programmers leave and tonnes of creepy grade 10's sign up. Also, no anime hackers trying to look cool.

I was thinking of a hand palming the Earth, with electronic circuits in bright blue running from the fingertips all across the surface of the globe. Sorta like showing the power of programming, y'know?

Here is my first logo i made , it was done in 30 minutes with lighting and texture , it dosent have an s cause i got lazy and thought it wasnt worth finishing if no one liked it , the colors are not definite , there jsut there for fun , just look at hte idea

It's not that we need a new logo, I just think it would be easier to identify our site if we had something. Like when you see a penguin, you think Linux, and when you see a dead bird, you think Mac.

I like the blue C thing...it looks too real though in my opinion...sfx it up :p

as i said , if you guys give me some drawings or as scetch , il build here as well as i can, that was a 30 minutes , little play around , i can make some hard core motextures and models , just throw some ideas at me or catalyst , if he is around

Well, here are my ideas.

I like the hand touching the earth idea, but I think it would be cooler if it was wires sprouting up from the bottom of the earth kinda like a tree of life idea. Then the continants could be shaded with a bunch of green binary, and the oceans blue binary, with a similar colour scheme to the banners that we already have

Second idea was to think of an animal to make a mascot out of. Anyone?
