the core is definatly a bit over done... there's just too much there.

Amailer - why dont you install 3DSMAX/Maya and make something like that yourself, instead of changing color of anything to blue in PhotoShop? Laughing

how do u do high quality 3DS... it goes very slow when u got a lotta polies.... =(

personally (heck, I've got the slowest celeron around) work in low-poly, then just smoothout the surfaces. If that is not the option, you can often hide objects you're not working with, and reduce calculation load on working windows by disabling display of textures and if it's really bad - just work in wireframe.

I used to use max on a p3 500 .. I had tried it on my p120 a long long time ago but that didn't work so well... I could make like a sphere and it would start lagging to shit hehe

Using render on huge images can make your comp go slow...atlest it did to mine when i was using the liquidefy filter...it took so long....and laggy!!!!
(i think its was a 1000x700 image)

not that large... I usually work at 300 DPI so images are usually 3500x2500
