Sup,
I want to pursue a Master's degree in Comp. Science in Canada (I'm from Mexico) and I was wondering what my chances are with a 89/100 average on my undergraduate degree (in Comp Sci). I haven't done my GRE and TOEFL tests yet but I'm pretty confident I would do decent at both.
Here are my options so far:
Carleton University
University of Ottawa
University of Toronto
University of Waterloo
University of Western Ontario
University of Calgary
McMaster University
Obviously I would like to get in one of the top universities (UT, UW), but people say they're highly selective. |

Incorrect way of going about it. Do not choose your university based on an overall reputation.
Figure out what you want to do and search for schools which have a good reputation in the field you want to go into. Stalk/email professors in your field of interest. Their sites usually feature talks they've given, papers they (or their groups) have written, etc.
Applying blindly won't work out as well as finding a potential supervisor. They will fight for you if they really want you. |
