I applied to
Laurier (Co-Op unavailable immediately)
Guelph (Co-Op)
Waterloo (Co-Op)
I was accepted into Laurier.
Waiting on the other two (implied)
I have an average of 87%, 88% as of midterm mark submission.
I imagine I'll be admitted to Guelph around mid term time, and I was just wondering if anyone had any information about Laurier of Guelph? We have a decent blog post here on it, but it's not terribly informative. When I search up Ontario computer science, all I seem to get is babble about how awesome Waterloo is people freaking out over it. Laurier and Computer Science with Guelph yield no interesting results. Anyone have an opinion or articles I could take a read through?
Please do NOT suggest Waterloo. I have applied and am not stressing over acceptance (nor am I sure I'll be attending there if I do get iin; personal and financial reasons).
Thanks! |

i have applied to the same places, and a few others, but not by waterloo yet. wilfrid laurier has a good coop option called... i forget what it is called but they have their normal coop like other universities and than they have their 1 year coop, in which u do coop for 1 year. and thats it, I want to go to guelph because the atmosphere is nice, i am not to sure about there program, but from what i know most universities teach the same stuff it just the profs u have, enviroment and if the school is more math based(there will be more theory). |

co-op is very beneficial to jump-starting your career (combo points, as you're citing financial constrains). |

idk actually know, the profs there(really nice people) told me it was a long coop and u would get paid normal amount of money, they said it averages between like i think $40000-60000, somewhere around there. they said it is more beneficial because say u r at waterloo and get coop with rim, u work on a project that has already been started and u do your thing for 4 months, than u out, and u don't see the finished product. with a year u could see the start and the end. |

I don't know how it's done at RIM, but at Amazon co-op students will typically start out on a brand new project and see it finished within 4 months. |
