Hey guys...so I fired in my applications for university, currently doing my last year in high school. These are the programs I've applied for (all co-op):

Quote:
Carleton: Computer Science (Computer Security Branch)
Ryerson: Computer Science
UofT: Computer Science (Info. Tech Branch)

I've been doing some research on my own between these universities (really leaning towards Carleton), and I'm not sure where I'll be accepted or which one will be best. Here are my marks to-date along with estimated marks and next semester courses:

Quote:
To-Date:

BOH4M1 - 70
ENG3U1 - 50 (Don't ask)
PAF3O1 - 77
CGF3M1 - 65
MCF3M1 - 68
TGJ3M1 - 80
ENG4C1 - 96 (Again, don't ask)
MCT4C1 - 80
TDJ3M1 - 94
TEJ3M1 - 91
ICS3U1 - 95
MDM4U1 - 81
TDJ4M1 - 89
TGJ4O1 - 80

(Average of all 12M/U courses: 80%)

Current (estimated, confirmed on Jan 31):

ENG4U1 - 80-83%
SPH3U1 - ~80%
MHF4U1 - ~70% (nothing below)

(Average 12U: 75%)

Next Semester (estimated):

ICS4U1 - 95%
SPH4U1 - 80%
MCV4U1 - 75%

(Average 12U: 83.3%)
(Total Average: ~79-80%)
(Top 6 Average: ~81.6%)

I'm just not sure which one to accept an application from (or if I'm at risk of not being approved by one for that matter), and I was hoping people around here would be able to help me out. I'd also have to be going on residence, so any info about food or dorm life would be great too. Thanks in advance guys!

Well, first I would wait for the acceptance letters considering that 50% in ENG3U does look really bad regardless of your other marks and you need to hope they just ignore it.

Wish your top 6, if it stays where you have it estimated, you should be fine for at least 1-2 of them if not all (U of T is pretty iffy if I remember correctly from their page)

Go with your gut, and if you are looking for info, I am pretty sure there is at least 1 guy that goes to Carleton and has shared his experiences on here somewhere.

Thanks for the input mate. Yeah, I'm hoping that the 96% in ENG4C1 helps get the point across (even though they "don't look at college marks", they'll still be forwarded to them and perhaps it'll help in the eyes of a recruitment department)...but I'm basically aiming at 70s in Business/Math, 80s in English/Physics, and 90s in Tech Design/CompSci which'll average out to an 80% or so which is far above the 75% Carleton says is their Honours cut-off and the 72-73% I've heard about Ryerson. :3

Sorry for the bump...just updated my confirmed first semester marks! Average should be around 82-83% at this rate. I also haven't heard back yet from the one guy I sent a message out to, so I'm still kind of left in the air as to an answer. :/

(Also, fail post above. Meant to edit the OP. >_> )
