Game Development Companies in Canada

I read a post on this site where someone was trying to find a programming job working for a games developer in Canada.

Wasn't me who asked, but thanks for the link (I'm a game developer on the asset development side, with programming experience).

Best bet for jobs in game development in Canada falls into two categories; If you choose the AAA route (big companies such as EA or Ubisoft) moving to Montreal is the biggest hotspot for that. Toronto is growing in this area as well (give it time, at least we have EA sports). And if you choose Indie Toronto is your best bet (thanks to the well knit community due to an original lack of AAA companies in Toronto, and those who refused to move to Montreal).

If you're in Toronto and want to go indie, look into the Hand-eye Society - amazing group.

At any rate if you're going into Game Development and you haven't already, look into the IGDA (International Game Developers Association).
If you want to set a goal for yourself try to get something done for the IGF (Indie Games Festival).

Thanks, this is the first time I have ever been able to find any video game companies even in remotely in my area. Hamilton sucks for computer science lol.
