We are building a brand new dating website that will change online dating forever. We are looking for a skilled programmer to become a part of our team for equity stake in the company. Currently the company consists of a Web Designer who will design the entire website and myself who will be in charge of Marketing and Legal aspects involving the website in addition to being the CEO of the company. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and has major potential for a programmer to invest their skills in a company that will grow rapidly. The website is called Nice To Date You and will include aspects of online dating that have never been seen on any other website in the marketplace today. Check out the website at www.nicetodateyou.com. Due to these innovations, a large amount of experience is needed since certain applications will need to be created that may have never existed on any other website. We had started this project 2 years ago and just recently began to design and code the website, however, the programmers we were working with had some personal family issues that could not be resolved in a reasonable period of time. We are looking to get started right away as we have been planning out our ideas and marketing strategy to build the website. We have prepared a contract to protect all three parties involved which may be reviewed by your lawyer and revised for final signature. If you are looking to build something that is unique and different from any other website in the marketplace please contact us so that we can meet and discuss this exciting opportunity further. You may e-mail me at andrew.aceti@gmail.com if you are interested or have any questions. This is your chance to be a part of something brand new and truly innovative in the marketplace which will also lead to long term financial gain.

The thing is, you need a REALLY good idea in order to compete with the many dating sites out there. You need a good monetization scheme, and VIP membership in this cased doesn't seem like a good idea, unless it's alongside ads, since the premium is not required/much better than the regular. If you have enough capital to pay a programmer by the hour at a decent rate then programmers might be interested, but this site does not give a very good chance of actually being successful.

PS: having to pay to change your privacy settings? Not exactly something that's good for the clients.

Wasn't there just another new dating website posted here recently that was going to change online dating forever?

What a coincidence Wink
When I'm less lazy, I'll link that here to save the effort.

Have you designed a mobile frontend? I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume the mobile market is a big part of anything social these days.

The rows in your 'Features' section don't align well with the grid (Chrome). That said, it looks like your designer used a generator (which is understandable if he's rough with web programming) to layout your site.

Namely this:

Posted Image, might have been reduced in size. Click Image to view fullscreen.

Could have been broken down into just [unchecked/checkmarked] images. The rows could have been done with a unordered list element <ul> and <li>, then fancied up the rows with some css. While there's new tricks to use counters in css to make the stripped effect, you could also just use another class for the odd rows.

Your going to have fun trying to find someone experienced in Video Chat however. You might want to think about breaking that job up into two parts. First being the staple cms that manages profiles and other junk like that (consider using an existing library to speed things up). Second the guy who spends a fair amount of time on your niche products (video chat / chatrooms).

That said, I've never seen the point to these sites ...

Relationships are hard (between mid 20s and 30; http://xkcd.com/907/ ), to a point where enough people are willing to just throw money at the problem. All the major players in the space are those old monolithic corporations that make more money if the users don't find a match (so that they'll keep on paying subscription fees). The only decent player used to be OkCupid, until it got acquired.

Basically the point is that there are a lot of money, and the space is ready for some disruption.

"Nice To Date You" is not it. The only new~ish feature appears to be Video Chat, which was innovative back in 2009 (Chatroulette; that arguably also had "dating" theme, although that mostly went one way). Throwing everything, and the kitchen sink, onto the website (besides video chat, there's also just chat, chatrooms, forums, blogs, picture tags, etc. etc.) clearly shows a lack of focus. Every feature offered is basically some open source package -- any other existing website can slap on the same feature, but they already have a userbase advantage.

Plus the fact that there is a reason why sites don't do webcam chatting. What does every website that allows users to video chat end up as? Chatroulette. For some reason video cameras bring out the worst in people.
