I'm a Grade 12 student and want to go for computer science in university.
I'm definitely going to apply for uwaterloo, but I need a back choice.
I don't want it to be just a random university, but be easier to get into and fairly OK for computer science.
Does anyone has any suggestions?
Thanks! |

McMaster has a similar program to waterloo, and it's a decent program. I'd suggest that as one of your 2 back-ups, and then something easier then that. |

Ok, well U of T is known to have a good program, but not sure if it is easier to get into or not. I haven't looked beyond those 2 in depth, but since Western is good at engineering in general i would think they should have a decent comp sci program (though don't quote me on that)
I'm looking at what backup options are for myself but those options are primarily if i don't think I will enjoy campus life at those 2 universities |

UWaterloo / UofToronto(St. George) are top choices. The rest kind of blur together. Look at admission averages -- start from the highest requirements and work your way down. That will give you an approximation of choices. |

UofT is one of the top choices, but I thought if you can get in to UofT, most likely you will be accepted by UWaterloo too, so there's no reason to apply it for "backup" if I don't really want to go there?
Also, is there any school outside Ontario?

There are schools outside of Ontario, but has UoW and UoT so it's generally the best. Outside of Ontario, choose schools on where you want to visit.
And just because you can get into UoT doesn't mean you will get into UoW. Sometimes they just are plain full, or something similar. Apply to both, and then a lower average one. |
