...when coding or otherwise?

Personally when coding I either load up T61 and select some trance-like or smooth music. Some of my favourites from there are Lionheart - Emancipator and Settler - Balmorhea. Though if I'm not on the web web coding (highly doubtful), I sometimes just queue up some Buckethead or some of my more favourite music I listen to constantly. Basically anything that doesn't have words that pop out and a nifty beat. I also have this crazy jam session I downloaded from somewhere ages ago that always gets me in the zone.

What about you guys?

I kind of listen to whatever, mainly gaming music (Metroid Prime 2 Echoes Music: Title Theme or Dark Echoes). Then from time to time, I listen to russian music.

Metalcore (mostly), Death Metal, Prog Metal, Symphonic Metal, Power/Speed Metal (each of the metal genres listed are VERY different from each other), some Hip Hop (click the link on my sig for examples), Classical, Jazz, Celtic, Folk, and the likes of what Turing_Gamer already said (stuff like Metroid Prime's soundtrack). I'm eclectic, but picky. Also listen to a lot of underground.

Symphonic Speed Metal, Power Metal, Heavy Metal (like Man-o-War), Trance. Melodics. Music like the halo soundtracks is also nice.

Metal, Techno, Trance, Classical (or maybe it's properly called neo-classical...see Bond, for example), Gaming music, foreign music.

I can't handle music that has intelligible lyrics while trying to code. This probably has something to do with the fact that my poor linguistic centres of the brain are only capable of one conversation at a time.

Glad to see metalheads can be found on these forums. Neo-classical is awesome too.

when coding, I used to habitually listen to Radiohead, but that has somewhat deteriorated.
otherwise it's usually indie music (really into The Antlers right now), sometimes some classical thrown in there, and i usually fall asleep to classical.

To me, Highly Strung is great. It seems like it should be the title song for the next Quentin Tarantino flick.

I'm big on Alternative Rock and New Rock. Currently love the Love album by Angels & Airwaves and The Burn, Burn album by Our Lady Peace.
