my c drive has 75 gb capacity and it was 99% full. so i checked all the files and folders on the drive and it was only 25 gb. so i ran windows disk cleanup and it shows that there's about 50 gb of "system archived windows error report"!! just curious as to what information is archived? and how much error info should be generated(it's only been a month since i formatted and reinstalled windows)? worm/virus maybe?
running vista btw. |

Memory is usually referring to RAM
I remember reading something about how Vista used 25% of your total drive capacity for Restore Points.
This can be changed though. |

It could be a virus or other malice, or it could be that Windows decided that it was important to have all of the resident data at the time of failure saved (i.e. saving everything in RAM to the HDD). I don't know whether it actually does that, but I wouldn't put it beyond Microsoft.
Just clear it out. |

If your computer crashes it updates the ERROR log and/or the BOOTEX log. So if you crash constantly then possible you have a 50 gb worth of unneeded text. My guess. |
