Hello,
I am a first year CS student in my second semester at Waterloo. I am planning on transferring to UofT. I was wondering if anyone here has been in a similar situation and would tell me what challenges they faced due to differences in the program.

Though i'm not yet a university student yet, I'll pass the info I have from friends who are in CS first year in UofT St George now.

From what they said, CS first year at UofT, is not much of a challenge (you know, the expectations aren't that high yet for first years). One of my friends are taking all math + CS courses at UofT right now, and he's relaxing in CS while cramming for the math courses (lol)

I don't know exactly how Waterloo's first year CS program is like.. but it should be approximately the same since it is a general course. If i were in your shoes, I wouldn't really worry about the differences that much.

I know a few people who have done this, and they adjusted fine. However, you may lose some credits, or be recommended to retake some things, which may make you feel like you're losing some time. Also, based purely on what I have seen and been told, the difficulty of math courses will go from large workload and applications (Waterloo) to big workload and lots of theory (U of T) ... to a point. Really it depends on which transfer credits you receive, and if you do receive them be prepared for some adjustment to the perspectives seemingly equivalent courses vary in. These are really general points I can think of quickly, if you have any specific questions I'll try to answer.
