how do i get xp mode on my windows 7 computer

I have some xp programs I want on my computer how do i get xp mode

I do believe XP mode doesn't come with Home Edition. Just pointing that out, I haven't really looked for it.

You are right, you need professional and up to run XP mode, plus you need to download some files. Thank you Microsoft.

However in your case, right click the .exe, click properities and turning compatability on might help. (I know I can't spell)

Well it's basically a Virtual Machine preloaded with WinXP. So if it doesn't work:

Find you WinXP CD.

You'll need some experience in installing Operating Systems.

Though personally I wonder if the only thing stopping people is a "Mature Content ahead, Enter you birthday" sort of test. I wonder if there's actually any difference between the two supported versions of 7. Though I'm sure there's probably some sort of check once it's downloaded.

U could try running the program in compatability mode for WinXp.
Most will work this way.

Otherwise: VMware or VirtualBox

Installing as OS is rly easy.

For Win7, home edition comes with all of the features, u just need 2 unlock them (who knows how?).

Already said compatability mode. My horrible spelling must have confused you. Actually I find that Windows 7 isn't all that great. It could be better.

True. I think all the hype surrounding it kinda ruined it for me. All the commerials saying how great it was, then it turns out to be okay. Hype sucks.

I think Windows XP Mode is a bit more than just XP preloaded in a VM. I think they've modified it and Virtual PC. I think it allows them to run applications in a "unity" mode and also allows them to open files with applications in the virtual machine by default. It probably does a lot more too, but I'm not sure because I only have Home Premium.

There are a few methods to get XP Mode on Vista/7 Home editions, but I'm not going to say them here. A quick Google search will show you the possible methods.
