For the next three years of my undergraduate studies I will be able to pick two electives per year (adding up to 6 electives). I have been thinking about declaring a minor in Greek, but I was also thinking about my workload for the next three years. Aside from a pure math course in second year, I would be taking about 7-8 Computer Science courses per year of study.
I like studying Greek, and due to my large amount of electives in first year I was able to explore what I may or may not like to do along side Computer Science. If I were to declare a minor in Greek I would have to use all of my electives for that minor. Thus I would not have any room in my timetable to take other courses. If I do not declare a minor in Greek than I would obviously be able to use them to take other courses.
I am hoping to enter the Honours Computer Science program at McMaster University next year which would lead me to a Bachelor in Applied Science degree, and possibly a minor in Greek if I choose to do so.
Any opinions concerning what I should do? If anyone is an upper year Computer Science student at McMaster please free to comment on the workload as well. |

Just study Greek, as much as you want, and keep your eyes open for other opportunities. If, when you graduate, it turns out that you have the requirements, then get the minor. Otherwise, what have you lost? A word on your diploma and transcript. You still have N-1 courses in Greek and all the knowledge and skills that implies. --PR |

That sounds like a good plan to me, thanks. |
