Nope, only available for Mac OS.

(And before anyone comes in here saying how much they Apple for that, I'd like to point out that Microsoft also has a lot of software that's no Mac compatible)

[edit] There is though, nothing stopping you from developing on Windows, just that you can't compile/run them

Considering the number of apps in the AppStore, all the "easy" apps have already been made. Now you need to actually make useful application. And even then, it will be lost among the sheer volume.

That is, if you think that you can follow some online tutorial on building apps and have lots of people buy it -- you are very mistaken.

I wouldn't say "all good", just "easy". Whenever a new platform comes out, there's a rush of developers that pick out some app that already exists for a different platform, but not yet for this new one, and port/clone/rip-off the app. They are done in the order from least-effort-to-most-effort.

Kind of how there's a dozen different "flash light" "apps". They are very easy, but I would not call them "good".

The ease of development (for a mobile devise) + ease of distribution (AppStore) + enough market share to actually make a profit has made everyone (and ecookman) develop (or want to develop) some "easy money" app. That has certainly raised the bar of entry into the "more-effort" range, but if you really do have a good original idea, and the skills to execute it well -- there should be little to stop you.

Even if you do write a killer app, you still need to worry about Apple rejecting it Laughing.

A bit off-topic but I heard that Opera Mini was ported to the iPhone and was recently submitted to the App Store. Hopefully Apple accepts it (I doubt it though).
