Hi can someone help me ?

I am now a first year university student in computer science in Ottawa Canada. I loved computers and frankly learned everything I could learn on my own: like a technician you know building them, solving problems troubleshooting etc... I didn't like programming but I thought hey! I'll try it out and see. But after 1 month 1/2 I saw that I struggle a great deal and don't like it at all. I had no prior experience since I did not really cared for programming. And I do not care for engineering either. Now I am searching to find another degree I could get into that would include as little programming as possible and more and more of trouble shooting and multimedia: meaning everything revolving around the computer to study. And I don't mean the art.

It was very disappointing to realize that there might not be anything for me out there except for going back to college where it seems, all the courses of that sort are given, and for which I probably know AT LEAST 50% to 75% of the data being thought. Can anyone of you be of any help. I was thinking about a specialized school? I am waiting for your answers.

Thanks to all.

You could try doing an electronics/electrical course since there is less programming, and A LOT of troubleshooting - of course, not directly related to computers, but troubleshooting in general is always good.

Or, if there is a college in your area, it sounds like that is more suited to your expectations.

If there are classes at the college level you find trivial, you can always take an equivalency test and not take the courses you might know "50-75%" of. Keep in mind, however that whatever score you get on the test becomes your mark on your transcript.

Something else you might consider is online courses.

There are professional certifications from specific vendors.

I don't think troubleshooting in itself would be a common subject to find at any university as generally there is a certain amount of theory to most degrees. You may want to see if there are any Information Technology undergraduate programs that may still have some working with computers and software, just not writing the software. Just an idea that I'd put out there.

Take Information technology management or go to college.
