I believe that University of Waterloo is a Computer Science research center.

What do you mean by a research center? Here are a couple of different examples:

Like universities(these are just a couple, there are likely many others):

David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science

Simon Fraser computing groups

Or do you want industry:

Microsoft Canada Development Centre (MCDC)

Thanks for reply, There are three kinds of computer reserach centers.

1) universities, usually they do not hire people from outside.
2)big companed supported research centers
3)National resrach centers.

I want to get a list of computer reserach centers in Canada.

Whatever could you mean by that? If you're saying that universities don't hire graduates from other universities, that's clearly wrong; and if you're saying that people who are hired by a university are affiliated with that university, that's a tautology.

There are many government research facilities, many run by the NRC (National Research Counsel) and by Industry Canada - notably the Communications Research Center.

The research positions in Universities are usually only for a few years. and the members in a university reserach center(group) are usually the professors and PhD students in the univeristy. so I said they do not hire people from outside. right?
