old guy rambling
It might just be me, but, I get a definite sense that this Fall 2009 is going to be very exciting in

There might be other language design and development areas hitting high points, but these are the three I'm going to try and support, promote, and drag whatever numbers of young people towards as I can manage. Wink

It's not that bad being (or feeling like) a bigger fish in a littler pond. And from what I can see, these might be projects that could make names.

Just rambling...
Cheers

Giancarlo is doing awesome work. But he really does need a few cracker-jack C++ coders, and of course Falcon scripters, to take it to the next level (that being, building up enough third party modules to make it look as vaste as it will eventually become).

The 0.9.4 release really is a step up from previous binaries in terms of the interactive console. -i mode is far more pleasant now, and should be a much more enjoyable learning tool for this wicked deep and skillful merge of many paradigms.

If/when anyone tries Falcon, keep in mind (my impression of) the designers intent. To provide embedded scripting in compiled massively threaded data acquisition and processing apps. This, with a surprise ending of the actual implementation being a very capable general purpose utility language. All, in my old and very wise, in my old and very wise, in my old <4 digit brain stack overrun> and humble opinion.

Cheers
