When I applied for OSAP, I put my summer income as 0, because I'm going to china for the summer, and I expected to lose my job when I come back.
But now, I'm back to Canada, I got a call from my employer asking me to work, cause she can't find anyone else.
I'll probably earn $1000 if I work from now until the end of the summer.
The question is what would happen if OSAP find out that my summer income isn't 0, is $1000 a lot of difference to disqualify me from OSAP.
if $1000 is too much I also have the option to only 2 or 3 days a week to lower my income.
so... should I work full time? part time? or don't work at all?
if I work part time, what's the max amount I can earn without getting disqualified from OSAP. |

It's hard to say what will happen to your OSAP as it is based on so many things, including your parentes income.
However this kind of thing does happen alot and if you do work it is a simple fourm to fill out at your fincial aid office to have the loan reevualted. I would dentafly inform them if you do decied to work as they will check what you put down with your income tax.
Rember that OSAP is a loan so you will have to pay it back unlike the money you would earn from work, tho OSAP does open up the posblity of grants, bureisearies and some student jobs on campus.
If your loan estment was for a considerable amount, then i would not wory about it to much. |

I always thought OSAP required that you at least make an attempt at paying for school yourself. No? |
