As with any such list, it's pretty easy to find faults and missing names...
What no John von Neumann?
Anyway, not a bad list. Especially when Carl ranks just a tad higher than Bjarne.

Hmm.. I only recognized Tim Berners-Lee, Guido van Rossum, and Linus Torvalds. |

John Resig does NOT deserve to be on that list. |

It really does seem that it's a list of influential people that happen to be (or have been) programmers, rather than people with influence specifically to the field of programming and/or computer science.
Apparently hiring DHH, who happened to write RoR to make his job easier, is enough of an accomplishment to land Jason Fried in 10th spot. What? |

How can RMS not be on such a list? You may not adgree with his rants or views but i still think the GNU project is a bit more important and influential then half the things on this list.
Also like the comments say there is no Alan Turing or Ada Lovelace witch might be the most influential of all time in CS. |

The least we could do is make decent languages named after these people!
I've never used Ada, so I don't know anything about it other than it's rarely used outside of airplanes or something. |

I don't hate jQuery, I'm just not gullible enough to believe it's not without fault. I personally know several other individuals who are just as deserving. Also, there's no way John Resig should be before Crockford, who is an undeniable javascript-god. |
