i assume you're using XP. if so try downloading TWEAKUI and see if the hard drive letters is hidden. |

(Windows-XP) Right click on your My-Computer icon in your start menu -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Look to see if it shows up under the disk drives category or portable devices. |

Why, because then you won't have any trouble getting it to work with your computer! |

hilarious md...
I recommend bringing it back to wherever you bought it from, that definitely sounds like something any warranty should cover. |

Why would he bring it back without knowing if the hdd itself is causing the problem or not?
Have you tried it on any other computers? |

If it shows up in device manager, you probably don't have it formatted and you haven't assigned a drive letter from there. You should format it and assign a drive letter from in device manager. Sorry I can't post instructions right now because I'm not on Windows. |

You can try using something like System Rescue CD and use its partitioning tool to format the drive as FAT32. Be careful you dont accidently format your computer hard disk however! |

He shouldn't have to buy something that should've come with his original purchase. I say take that HDD back to the store and get another. |
