I found this cool program while stumbling around the internet. It clams to make you read faster by flashing words on the screen in-front of you. Upon my first look at I thought it was another useless program that does nothing special. AND IT IS!, but it works and you really can read something at like 900 wpm.
anywho--here is the link...

IT REALLY WORKS!

Sure your brain can know what each word-image means but how much of that you retain? and follow coherently? Very little imo. |

Yeah I heard about something like this randomly many years ago while watching an infomercial. Semi-interesting, at least. |

this is very cool, I can handle around 800 words a minute I think, it's very hard to remember it all though now if only i could program that fast.... |

Are you sure you can actually read it that fast, or have you memorized the sentence enough to reconize it in pattern. Or is you computer slowish. Cuz theres no way in hell i can read anywhere close to 900 WPM, let alone 600. Funky though. |

hmm. you could be right with the slow internet... but I asure you it was something I hadn't read.
Doing a little self study, if you are reading black text on a white backgroung (default settings) it is a lot harder than the custom settings that I used of red text on black background.
Also I do enjoy reading and read lots, that might help possibly because i am more farmiliar with words.
and at 950 wpm is where I start to miss stuff, that is the absolute maximum that i can do. I WILL AGREE that 600 wpm is nice, comfortable to read at.
Never the less, if I have a slow connection, the speed that I am 'spreeding' at might be slower. I am no internet expert but it sounds plausable. |

It wouldn't bee the internet. The words are processed and displayed by your computer. They are already loaded from the server.
I think you've memorized it. I found it harder to read the original that I didn't pre-read than the ones I made up myself. |

aahaa! i found why i could read the passage i was looking at at like 900wpm...all of the words were the same size.
Spreeding some thing with words that are long and then short is practally impossible.
so, it really depends on what you are reading. |
