Okay so i ended up getting 86% final overall average for this semester of grade 11. 90% computer science, 92% gym, 79% bio, 82% chemistry.
I go to a reputable school and if my next semster marks is about 87%, will this be enough to get into Waterloo computer science co-op, or computer engineering?
Thanks!!! |

If you maintain that through the first semester of grade 12, it'll work for UW CS. I don't know about CE, but I suspect it's good enough there also. |

Each school publishes their expectations. Also, while grade 11 marks are considered for early admissions, a single semester of grade 11 is hardly the deciding factor. Your English mark isn't even on the list yet. |

Computer science you will get into for sure. Most likely computer engineering. Probably not software engineering.
Edit: nvm i read your question wrong. I personally dont think your gr 11 marks are high enough for early acceptance, but if you can keep 87 average for grade 12 courses then look at what i said above. |

I currently have around an 85% average. My hope is to get into Waterloo CS co-op. If it doesn't happen, I'm not too worried, I have back-ups. |

Jesus. You do not need stupidly high marks to get into waterloo, or any other school. What counts is being well rounded, and consistant, and meeting whatever their minimum is when you apply.
To be honest though the AIF is WAY more important then marks ever are. |

A paradox if I ever saw one. Or an oxymoron. |

i wish what you said is true.
my AIF is great, even my guidance counselor told me that I have a lot more extra curriculum activity than most people.
but as of well rounded and consistent, i never do my homework.... but they can never check that XD
also just wondering... how much does the 66 english affect you when you have alot of extra curriculum activity that evolves English/communication skills |

No one reading or posting here is an admissions officer, so you're only going to get speculation on this.
When I decide whether or not to let a student into the advanced CS course at Waterloo (CS 145), their English mark plays a significant role. --PR |
