Hello Compsci, I'm in gr10, wondering if it's worth it to take gr11 math next semester instead of an elective course to help give me a break with the gr12 load ( I have 3 maths in gr12, lord help me). What do you think?

The more math the merrier.

It comes down to your personal goals. It already seems like you understand how important math is.

If you are already taking the math classes you need for both personal and post secondary reasons, then take gym. Razz

Otherwise, I'm not quite sure on how to advise without greater detail on what type of math course you speak of.

it is completely your choice, some people on this site (believe it or not), would even consider having 3 grade 12 math courses in one year something to lessen course load, instead of increase it.

Having 3 Math courses in one year isn't that bad of a thing, I had that when I was in my final year of high school where I had Finite in the first semester with Calculus and Algebra & Geometry in the second semester. In that year I also had grade 13 Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English and grade 12 Computer Science.

Course in the year before that I had grade 11 one semester and grade 12 the next for my Math courses.

I like Math. Smile

isn't grade 11 math mandatory?

I believe it is.

I did Geo in my G11 year, so I had only 2 left once I reached G12.

Math is good, pray you dont get a class that forcibly sticks you with this crappy support site for all assignments and your textbook. Lotsa complaints that caused. Neutral

Ok, I'm going to switch my elective electricity course for gr11 math, then I'm taking a gr12 math and 2 sciences next year.

Yes. The OP is just wondering if it would be a better idea to take it early so that he can split up his 3 Grade 12 Maths (most likely Data Management, Advanced Functions, and Calculus and Vectors) over two years instead of just one.
