Is there a way I can communicate with the usb port in Perl? I want to wire up a simple peripheral with a usb port (because I don't have a parallel port on my laptop, and I hate parallel ports). Would I have to download a library for the port?

for the wiring bit- could I use a USB/cable from an old mouse, or do I need a new one?
