With the new Xbox community games feature released yesterday, it would be cool to have an XNA forum on compsci. What do you think?

I've added a poll to get a better idea of the response.
Latest from compsci.ca/blog: Tony's programming blog. DWITE - a programming contest.

Normaly the way we add a new fourm is if there are enought topics about it in the general fourms (general discussion, general programming) and the comunity shows enought intrest in it to make it worth while.

So the best way to get the fourm to come about is to make tutorials and other content on it and encorage users to take it up.

I agree. I've decided to take up XNA, mainly because I think that the new Community Games feature was such a good idea. It would be cool to have everyone share their ideas for games and help each other.

XNA isn't a language, though. We don't have a forum for RTP Java, so why would this be any different? Perhaps we need a "DotNet" forum, in that case. At least that will include both XNA, and everything else DotNet.

Yeah, you're right. I suppose a forum just for XNA is too much, but I was thinking more along the lines of people trying to share their ideas for games and such, because there is likely going to be alot of people trying to get on community games and this looks like something that could take off.

I really think this is the most rational way to go about it, and before even reading the thread, I came here to say it. There's no reason to make a forum that won't be used enough to justify it, and there's no better way to know it'll be used than to see that people are already talking about that subject. I, for example, do a lot of Perl, so a Perl forum would be cool, but not if I'm the only one in there. Even if everyone else said there ought to be a Perl forum, it's dumb to do if no one is using it.

I honestly don't really care...
Considering that its the administrator's forum and site, they can do whatever they want.
A poll is a good idea to see if users (members) will agree to your question.
If the majority of the members agree's then obviously the admin's will do whatever they can to expand their site and provide
their desires...

By looking at the poll, it seems as though members do not want the extra forum,
plus I don't really see how it relates to programming.

I also agree with Tony and Dan's opinions/decisions too.
